Gem’s Cats offers gentle and patient cat grooming in Lincoln, carried out in the comfort of your cat’s own home.
This service is designed to help your cat stay comfortable, clean and well cared for without the added stress of travelling to a grooming salon or being placed in an unfamiliar environment.
Home-based grooming is ideal for cats who need help with de-shedding, nail clipping, basic coat care, hygiene support or gentle grooming reassurance. Many cats feel safer in familiar surroundings, allowing us to work calmly and carefully at your cat’s pace.
Every grooming session is adapted around your cat’s coat, confidence, temperament and tolerance. Some cats enjoy being brushed and fussed, while others need a slower, more reassuring approach, so your cat’s comfort and wellbeing always come first.
Grooming sessions are usually around 30 minutes long, although this can vary depending on your cat’s needs and comfort levels.
We will never push a cat beyond what feels safe or fair, helping make the experience as calm, kind and positive as possible.

What We Offer
Prices may vary depending on your cat’s coat condition, breed, size, temperament and how much grooming support is needed during the session.
Cat Grooming Package
De-shedding and nail clipping – £40 to £60
De-shedding only – £35 to £55
Nail clipping only – £15
Larger breeds or cats with more demanding coats may be charged slightly more.

Payments are made either two ways
1: In full just before the service
2: Via our monthly payment plan option
Paying in full prior to your cat‘s service is paid via bank transfer or cash.

How it works:
• Choose a monthly amount that suits you
• Payments are taken securely each month via Stripe
• Your payments build up as credit on your account or is taken off your remaining balance
• You simply pay any remaining balance before your booking
More Ways To Pay!
We also offer more bespoke monthly payments plans where you can pay off a few of your holidays booked over just a set few months (instead of a rolling continuous monthly payment) without paying the remainder before the holiday as the entire amount is paid for the multiple holidays by the beginning of the last holiday.
So splitting 4 holidays over 4 months, the total amount is divided by 4.
You can also choose to set up your own payment plan using your bank to create a Standing Order instead of using Stripe.

Grooming sessions are usually around 30 minutes long, depending on your cat’s coat, confidence and comfort levels. Some cats may allow more grooming than others, and the session will always be guided by what feels safe and fair for your cat.
Set-up and tidying away are not included in the session time. A booking form may be provided before the service so we can understand your cat’s grooming needs, temperament, medical considerations and any handling concerns before the appointment.
Basic mat removal or trimming may be possible depending on your cat’s coat and how comfortable they are with being handled. Shaving mats is not usually offered as standard while we continue to gain more experience in this area, although it may be considered in some cases if your cat allows it and can stay still enough.
Any mat removal, bespoke grooming requirements or additional coat work may cost extra depending on what is needed. If your cat has heavy matting, severe discomfort or a coat issue that may require specialist equipment or veterinary support, this will be discussed honestly so the best option can be chosen for your cat.

Gemma is a real ‘cat lady’ and does a fantastic job of looking after our 5, very individual cats. We have 3 rescued feral kittens, 2 of which are super shy & timid – Ollie & Bob and the darling wee ‘Dot’ from the same farm, who for some reason, isn’t as shy or timid! Plus we’ve the 2 adults, Nellie (Senior House Cat) & Mowgli – ‘The Mighty Hunter’ They all have quite different needs with care and Gemma makes sure each is looked after. Gemma sends us pics as updates and keeps us informed. Reliable, trustworthy and cat knowledgeable too. I know our furry kids are in capable, and more importantly, genuine caring hands with Gemma. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and have already booked Gemma to come stay again with our cats.
Gem is absolutely amazing. She took the stress out of leaving the cats as we knew they would be in good hands. We received so many pictures and updates it was amazing. Our cats have been truly spoilt and we have returned to two very happy kitties. She is just a wonderful lady and I can not recommend her service high enough!
Gem was absolutely amazing! We couldn’t recommend her enough. We wanted to find an alternative to a cattery and Gem’s pet sitting service was perfect. We had lots of communication and updates on Pickle including photos and videos which helped us feel at ease. Pickle instantly took to Gem, and enjoyed a lot of attention and playing time throughout the stay. We are so glad we found Gem and will definitely be using her pet sitting services again in the future!
I can’t even begin to explain how Gemma’s service has transformed our Christmas. Having pets is just like having small furry children isn’t it ? But we can’t take them away to spend time with family for obvious reasons and leaving them seemed selfish and mean at Christmas. But then I discovered Gemma’s cats and she put my mind at rest and she has kept us updated with funny pictures and has spent time with them and they’ve had new treats and toys and cuddles and time spent with them.
